The family business was formed in 1926 by Alec Jarrett, he began supplying local butcher shops and as the business increased over the years the company supplied national butcher shop chains and customers on Smithfield Market in London. The industry was vastly different then to how we operate today. During his life he got involved in farming and the company has increased our farming activity over the years. The company is situated in prime agricultural countryside in the West Country. Due to good quality grass and land to grow different types of cereals in the West Country we are able to source very consistent good quality livestock. All the livestock procured has to be Farm Assured as a minimum, for certain brands in our business the livestock standard required is significantly higher and only sourced from approved farms.
