"Breakfast is everything. The beginning, the first thing. It is the mouthful that is the commitment to a new day, a continuing life," writes A. A. Gill in his introduction to his book 'Breakfast at The Wolseley'. Starting at 7am on the dot from Monday to Friday (and from a gentler 8am at the weekend), breakfast is served from an extensive menu. Last booking is at 11.00am. For lunch and dinner service we offer the choice of à la carte or all-day menus, both inspired by the grand cafés of Europe. Our menus offer an eclectic variety of dishes from seafood platters, to salads, to classics such as steak tartare and daily changing grilled fish of the day. Firm favourites veal Holstein and chicken soup with dumplings are always on the menu, as are the changing plats du jour. To follow, a wide selection of desserts and ice cream coupes. We serve a full Afternoon Tea from 3.00pm on weekdays and 3.30pm at weekends and during December. It consists of assorted finger sandwiches, fruit scones, a selection of pastries and choice of teas every day, at £29.75 per person. All our scones and pastries are made on the premises, with an ever-changing selection of cakes, which might include a Battenberg or Sachertorte.
