They say the best things in life happen accidentally, well the pickled radish is no exception to the rule. back in 2014 Nick set up cleverchefs ltd catering for weddings and high profile events around wales and the west. clever chefs started getting a lot of bookings and Nick realised that they were going to need a suitable kitchen to work from. Nick came across a gentleman called Mr Harris looking for someone to take over the restaurant side of his business in Laleston just outside Bridgend, not really considering opening a restaurant nick was not sure if it was the right thing to do as the business was meant to be just catering for events and outside catering. anyway not one to turn down a challenge Nick approached Mike and asked him if he fancied moving to wales from Bournemouth and help him open a restaurant alongside the outside catering company. After a few months renovation the pickled radish in Laleston was open, May the 1st to be exact. from the outset we were inundated with curious guests and a mix of the old trade from years before. our audience loved us and quickly became the place to be around the vale attracting celebrities and sports personalities from around wales. We managed to do this by being careful about every aspect of our business, we carefully source our wonderful welsh produce and we understand how lucky we are to have such talented producers around us. we are careful when building our team, all of our team members are bursting with passion and that hard work ethos and we feel they are naturally gifted. We also make sure we have the most current on trend menus possible keeping our finger on the pulse at all times. From our success in the vale of Glamorgan we have now opened in the beautiful village of Llandaff in Cardiff. keeping the same name and identity we have built up over the last year or so. Clever chefs our outside events company is getting busier day by day also but now has its own state of the art production kitchen in the centre of Cardiff and bristol We don't know what is next for us but are just happy to be bringing fantastically fun food to our clients.
