The Cameroonian Melanito Biyouha, born in the city of Yaoundê, arrived in Brazil in 2003 and stayed at her aunt's house in the city of Brasília, Federal District. In Brasília, for four years, she worked as a hairdresser, standing out and conquering a solid clientele both in the beauty salon and in home care. After four years of his successful career in Brasília, he planned a break to air his thoughts and went on vacation to São Paulo. Fascinated by the cultural diversity of the fourth largest city in the world, Melanito decides to stay in São Paulo. Realizing that the center of São Paulo was the place where Africans lived and worked, in addition to housing the Hospedaria de Imigrantes, Melanito sees this environment as a great opportunity to unite forces and provoke encounters. Thinking of cuisine as an authentic expression of the identity of her people - and knowing herself to be knowledgeable about the techniques, ingredients and diversity of her country's typical dishes, Melanito decides on her newest venture: a restaurant with traditional Cameroonian cuisine. In February 2008, he began a pilgrimage through the center of the city until he found a commercial point in Alameda Barão de Limeira, in the Santa Cecília neighborhood, for the installation of the typical restaurant of his country of origin. The diversity of Cameroonian cuisine, finally represented in São Paulo – arrived in the form of the first five typical dishes, included in the menu of the restaurant that bears the name of his family in its trademark: BIYUO’Z. Initially frequented by the African community, the restaurant Biyou’z, a few months later had its menu expanded with the offer of typical dishes from Senegal, Congo, Angola, Nigeria, Tanzania, Mozambique, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Benin and Ghana. In 2019, a new Biyou'Z unit was born in the Consolação neighborhood. Melanito Biyouha, today, is a renowned Chef, offering the city of São Paulo the ingredients and customs of the African continent, so rich in flavors. The Biyuo'z restaurant is also known for the good service and friendliness of Chef Melanito and is considered a meeting point for lovers of good food and recommended by the main websites and cooking blogs in Brazil.
