The real reason for Germany's largest festival of this kind was originally the opening of the Irish Pub "Fiddlers Green" in Jena on October 30th. 1992. During this time, friends of the pub and musicians from the scene got together and organized a week-long spectacle on the subject of Ireland. At that time it was not foreseeable that it would become a traditional festival of Irish culture and joie de vivre. However: the numerous visitors and guests encouraged us to continue the following year, and so a success story developed that has now been going on for 28 years.
