In the first years of its activity, the company continued its activities with the trade of non-food products, and in time, it shifted its field of activity to the food sector where it could provide branding. Beta is the first company that imported tea to Turkey Food, has introduced Turkish consumers with a different taste. The economic crisis in 1994 had a negative impact on Beta as well as the whole country and necessitated access to different markets. In the early 1990s, Beta Foods managed to gain significant opportunities in the countries that were separated as a result of the disintegration process in the Soviet Union and entered these markets. It was the first private sector organization to bring tea to the former Soviet Republics.
