Trusis Cafe is trendy new place hidden away down Dzirnavu iela in the centre of Riga. The ‘rabbit’ cafe is a mix of cafe, gallery and bar or as they say food, art and intellect. Bright and white inside, Trusis has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, you’ll instantly feel at home once you step through the doors. It’s not fine dining but the food is tasty, the drinks choice is excellent and the service attentive. The artwork on the wall is… well it’s art so it’s your opinion if it’s good or not. The food at Trusis is simple but tasty. Pastas, salads and soups make up most of the menu with good cakes for those with a sweet tooth. Around half the dishes cater to vegetarians (sometimes they ditch the meat altogether, although that was a while ago) making it a good choice for groups with one or more non-meat eater. Best of all, Trusis has an interesting drinks menu, with Latvian fruit and berry wines and Latvian microbrew beers. It’s also one of the few, if not the only, places to get the Lithuanian ‘Dundulis’ craft beer in Riga. For a nice drink or light meal in a friendly space, hop in to Trusis Cafe (pun intended).
