La Guitarrita, a traditional pizzeria in Buenos Aires, was founded in 1963 by two former soccer players from the Boca Juniors and San Lorenzo de Almagro clubs: Mario Boyé and René Pontoni. For 40 years he received important figures from the sports and artistic fields of our country in his premises in the Belgrano neighborhood. Hand in hand with René Pontoni (grandson of the renowned player) and his wife Ximena Díaz Varela, La Guitarrita reopened in 2006 in the Nuñez neighborhood. The house offers a wide variety of stone pizzas - made at the moment in a wood-fired oven - artisan empanadas; fainá and homemade desserts. Some of the house specialties are the Farineta: pizza stuffed with onions, tomato slices, ham and mozzarella and the Venetian: onion, ham, tomato slices and hard-boiled egg. Not forgetting the Mozzarella and the Neapolitan - this one with plenty of garlic and basil leaves. The setting is very characteristic: all the walls are adorned with pictures, flags, photos and antiques related to the sport of our country, mainly soccer. You can find images and newspaper clippings that tell much of the history of Argentine sports and its protagonists. In La Guitarrita you can enjoy the best pizza on the stone, in a family atmosphere and surrounded by one of our great passions: soccer.
