An international person by birth, life has been a journey across various countries. With every new place came fresh habits and understanding of diverse cultures.When situated in the United States, life was too hectic. To balance such a demanding work agenda with not enough sleep, I often ran into small shops that served coffee, sandwich and yummy bagels. These shops personally attracted me because they not only satisfied my hunger with delicious breakfast and lunch but also had a novel approach. These small shops totally satisfied the taste-buds and were poles apart from the regular fast food chains.My Brazil spree lasted for several months. I lived on a farm which was surrounded by coffee plantations far and wide. I was enchanted by the full cycle of a small coffee bush growing the beans that in due course reached various parts of the world. These tiny coffee beans were more than just a drink. They tasted exquisite and across cultures coffee was served in numerous manners but, what truly inspired me was the way coffee brought people together. People sat around the table, building relationships and developing a bond while talking and sipping coffee.The idea that was just a seed blended all the novelties that I experienced and grew every day to form “The Shack”.
