The award-winning Le Gourmet serves local and international cuisine in an upscale atmosphere.Le Gourmet is in the lobby of the Oro Verde Hotel, but it also has direct street acess and tables outside on the wide avenue pavement from where you may enjoy a coffee, pastry and watch the world go by. The coffee is very good and Le Gourmet offers a decent selection of teas, but their Ecuadorian hot chocolate is sublime. Rich, smooth and utterly choloately. Perfect with a home-made pastry or cake. All the cakes and gateaux are made on the premises and may be ordered for special occasions. Muesli, prepared in-house, is one of my favourites. It is thick, creamy and delicious.
