The real pizza was born around 1600 thanks to a culinary creator from the Mediterranean. Even earlier records of pizza, which we know as a delicate and tasty dough, date from the period 500-600, when pizza "mastunicola", basil pizza, began to be made. However, the advent of modern pizza comes with the discovery of a combination with tomatoes. Around 1800, such pizza came all the way to America thanks to the Italians who emigrated to New York, and is prepared as in Naples.
