In 1970, 6 independent wholesalers of confectionery and drinks from Verviers linked their fate to each other in order to have more purchasing power from the manufacturers (and thus to obtain better purchasing conditions). They recognized the importance of forming a single company together, that SPECIALLY was baptized. The small business retained a very family character and initially only worked in the Liège region. She focused primarily on book stores and bakeries. A few years later, the company dropped its eye on the nearby Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and subsequently decided to take over the companies Kessler and Aligros and to establish a Luxembourg subsidiary: Specaly-Aligro NV.
