During the War of Independence, the Great Leader Atatürk, who had recovered his health by drinking mineral water brought from the Gazlı Lake in Afyonkarahisar, when he suffered from kidneys and he gave his own capital to plant a factory in Afyonkarahisar Gazlı Lake and donated it to the Red Crescent in Turkey to bring in money on October 17th 1926. The Red Crescent in Turkey is honoured to protect this important trust for 92 years. All of the income of the Red Crescent mineral water is used for "goodness". Every income of the mineral water is used for the purchase of tents, blankets and food items for disaster victims, but it also provides an important resource for the help distributed during the year to the needer.
