The Soap Co. is an ethical luxury brand that employs people who are visually impaired or otherwise disabled or disadvantaged. Our products are good and do good, and all our profits go back into the business so we can create even more jobs – this is what it means to be a social enterprise. Based in East London, and with a traditional workshop in the Lake District, The Soap Co. is a social enterprise creating and manufacturing soap products with sophisticated fragrances, minimalist design and a strong social and environmental ethos. We create employment for people who are blind or otherwise disabled or disadvantaged and strive to reduce our impact on the environment. Our parent company is CLARITY Employment for Blind People, a registered charity and the UK’s oldest surviving social enterprise, which has been employing, training and suppliering people with disabilities since 1854. At The Soap Co. we create a stable and friendly workplace to supplier our employees to build their skills, confidence and independence. Our mission is to provide a stepping stone into other employment for those who can achieve it, whilst providing a long-term job for those for whom this goal is less likely.
