Virgino is manufactured by Kankaisten Öljykasvit Oy, the first enterprise to bring cold-pressed rapeseed oil to nationwide distribution in Finland. Our business philosophy is to provide the market with the best cold-pressed rapeseed oil as regards health effects. As a by-product, the extracted rape seeds compressed to pellets make nutritious animal feed. We strive for the best service capability in the market. Kankaisten Öljykasvit Oy has formed a network with experts in different fields to ensure superior product quality. We train our contract farmers in cooperation with Hämeen Maaseutukeskus (Häme Countryside Centre). The seed is cleaned, weighed and stored by Suomen Viljava Oy and Viljankunnostus Risto Ojala. The quality of the rape seed we use is analysed by Viljavuuspalvelu Oy. Laboratory services are provided by Lihateollisuuden tutkimuskeskus (Meat Industry Research Institute), while MTT (Agriculture and Food Research Centre) is responsible for vitamin measurements. As for research work, our collaborative partners include the University of Helsinki, FinnMedi-Tutkimus, VTT Biotekniikka (National Technical Research Centre, Biotechnology), Lappeenranta University of Technology as well as Häme and Espoo-Vantaa Technical Colleges.
