Products The largest processed volume is corn kernel and corn on the cob, which yields over 30000 tonnes of quick frozen finished products. Corn is produced in Hajdufreeze or in of Vasmegyer. Both cold stores are equipped with new modern production lines for corn processing. Harvested corn is delivered to the cold store nearest to the cultivation area in the shortest time possible. The other major product is green peas, most of which is harvested in the rich fields near Hajdufreeze site. Since the fields are near Hajdufreeze and the production capacity of the cold store is approximately 30 tonnes/hour, the experienced staff can ensure that in the case of peas harvest and production time can be within 100-120 minutes. After selection by air, washing, blanching and cooling peas get into the quick freezer then the solid loose frozen product gets into the grader and the colour sorter. Finally it is packed in the packaging material demanded by the customer, metal detected and warehoused. The cold storage warehouses facilitate the simultaneous stock of 30-40 thousand tonnes of quick frozen goods which encourages the traders to sell the largest possible amount of commodities with prompt delivery. Fields situated in the facility of Vasmegyer is perfectly suitable for cultivating broccoli, tomato, cauliflower and some fruits. Most of the broccoli grown in Hungary originates from this area consequently the harvested raw material can be delivered and processed in a few hours’ time. Separating broccoli florets, cutting them to the given size and grading is done in the cold store. Pentafrost Ltd. has several thousand tonnes of tomatoes grown out of which the company produces tomato dices, slices and quarters with skin on and skin off. On demand special varieties are grown, eg. round, oblong and cherry tomato as well. There are special, up to date equipment in the skinned tomato production line.
