With over 60 unspoilt beaches, some great snorkelling spots, friendly quokkas and views out over the Indian Ocean, Rottnest Island is one of Perth's leading attractions, and a great family day out. Just to the south of Perth, the historic port city of Fremantle is another great day trip, just a short boat, train or bus ride from Perth city centre. Browse through the markets and take in all the historical architecture that lends Freo its character.
