The Harry’s Bar organises since 1924 a straw vote starting a month prior to the election day in the US allowing the Americans in Paris during this period to express their vote for the candidate they supplier. Results are published on a regular basis. This vote has become a real institution, more reliable that the polling agencies altogether. The Harry’s Bar was wrong only twice in 87 years and 25 elections. The process is strict in order to avoid any cheating. A big party is organised on the night of the elections and the Harry’s Bar is once again then the place to be.
