Ten years later, when the historical space of the Liberec Town Hall cellar was empty, on Wednesday, December 10, the first branded restaurant Pivovar Svijany started operating there. The restaurant itself was run by Catering KNL, which specifically hired specialists in the field of gastronomy for the Town Hall cellar and prepared various types of menus of traditional and non-traditional Czech cuisine suitable for the complete portfolio of Svijan beers. Guests who can fit 250 in the space will be able to enjoy the Svijans from the tank for the first time in history. The town hall cellar officially opened on December 15th. There are 2 lounges, one called the mayor's, the other parliamentary as a replacement for the Parlament pub, where the Liberec exposition is now located. Brewery Svijany won the space of ten years of the uninvited Town Hall Cellar in May 2014. Reconstruction work began almost immediately after its takeover and took place in cooperation with the Liberec Town Hall and conservationists. The new interior was designed by the architectural studio Shuttle, part of the original hall was complemented by completely new elements of the bar, entrance and many other details. Lasvit glass luminaires were used for the lighting concept. "We wanted to bring the atmosphere of an old Czech pub to the cellar, where everyone will find their own corner, where he will be happy to return not only for a good beer. All the while, we were competing with the historical context of the interior, into which we wanted to bring new life. The result is details such as a beerbook – a space on the wall on which customers can leave their mark in the form of a receipt," says Pavel Nalezeny from the Studio Shuttle and ex-deputy of the former Mayor of Liberec Jiri Solc, who was in charge of the project of reconstruction of the Town Hall Cellar, adding: "The tables and chairs are restored, as are the semicircular stained glass windows. Each of them has a story. During the construction of the town hall, they were donated by various craft guilds and associations, and depict scenes from the pub and from the life of the time." Great care was also given to the clothes of the staff. It is designed and tailored by the fashion manufacture Native Hrouda, which prepares dresses even for major world beauty contests. More recently, she was behind the preparation of clothes for Czech contestants Miss World 2014 and Miss Earth 2014. Now the cellar operates the association Libe-rest s.r.o.
