History of our house: The house is said to have been built around 1780 as a brewery with a restaurant. There are no documents available, there were no building records. The building regulations house records begin around 1900. The restaurant did not always have a restaurant, in the 1920s it was called the "German House". The post office was initially taken over by the innkeeper Klostermann and then from 1858 by the innkeeper Rolf. The postmaster Rolf ran the post from 1858 until the end of 1887, with a brief interruption in 1876 when glanders broke out among his horses and two animals were killed. During this time, Holtermann (Weststr.) and Detmar (Nordstr.) took over the postal services. In 1887, the carriage post with Warendorf stopped, as the town got a rail connection. However, the daily post ran to Warendorf until 1888. The last “Passeljöne” was Th. Pauk. A piece of romantic life came to an end. In the 1930s, tenants were responsible for catering. Between 1980 and 1983, the building was completely gutted and rebuilt by specialist companies. The cost of the renovation and restoration at the time was 1.5 million marks. The then owner, Dr. Wolfgang Rolf, was in charge of the building as the owner of the house. The building was sold in 2003 to the Baumgartner family, who manage it today. So, that's a small excerpt about the building that looks forward to your visit. You will definitely feel very comfortable.
