About 45 years ago, Café Loetje was a neighborhood and billiards café in Amsterdam South, where you could also enjoy a bouncer, a minced meat ball or a portion of cheese. When it became apparent that there was an increasing need for a 'real' supper, the tenderloin steak was introduced. Loetje's background as a butcher came in handy. The steak was a great success. The billiard tables made way for regular tables and the 'new' cafeteria was full every day with lovers of that delicious piece of meat: 'Loetje's steak'. More and more people in the world are now becoming acquainted with the tastiest steak. In addition to Café Loetje, there are several other Loetje restaurants located in the Netherlands. Loetje appears to have a large number of (inter)national fans and we are very proud and happy about that!
