Gelnický slaughterhouse survived as one of the few in Slovakia When sixteen years ago Stanislav Marcinek resumed the slaughterhouse in Gelnica, it was managed by a company with three. employees solely by slaughtering bovine animals and selling whole quarters to other processors. Today Gelnický slaughterhouse employs ten people more and the original slaughtering activity has also increased the processing and sale of meat and meat products. It follows not only the tradition of the slaughterhouse, which has been standing here since the 19th century, but also the old butcher's guilds. This is also reflected in the company logo itself. The brothers Stanislav and Juraj Marcinek, who run it, took it from the seal of the Gelnica Butcher's Guild from the 17th century located in the local Mining Museum.
