Ye Olde Black Horse is Rottingdean’s oldest pub with its home on the high street dating back to 1513. This is a traditional village pub with three separate areas. Join us to dine from our regularly changing menu of home-cooked pub meals and gastro specialities in our comfortable dining area or just enjoy a drink sat around the old log burner. Our refurbished traditional bar themed around Rottingdean's smuggling history, in which the Black Horse was certainly involved! A warm and interesting place to enjoy a pint from our wide range of ales that include local brews and cask cider. Of course, we also offer a full range of draught and bottled lagers, a varied wine list and extensive selection of spirits. We are also happy to serve you with food in this bar as an alternative to our dining area. The snug nestles between the other bar areas providing a quiet and intimate spot. In here you are in the oldest part of the building and sitting above the old entrance connecting the pub to the network of smugglers tunnels running under the high street.
