Upstairs in a former banana warehouse on Liverpool's famous Mathew Street, you will find Tea Parlour, an elegant English tearoom hidden inside the first floor of the View 2 Gallery. Home-made cakes and confectioneries take pride of place beside beautiful vintage china, crystal glasses and pressed white tablecloths. But the real star is the tea. Fine, loose leaf tea elegantly presented in individual glass teapots along with a timer, the emphasis is on taste. From black, green, white, oolong and tisanes, there is an ever changing menu of teas to enjoy from Rare Tea Company and Liverpool's own Phom tea. On weekends, guests at Tea Parlour can relax and enjoy live classical music from the resident pianist as they sit and enjoy the beautiful and elegant setting. Tea Parlour offers an airs and graces haven away from the bustle of Liverpool One, and is just a 4-minute walk from Liverpool Station. The venue is not licensed, but guests are welcome to bring their own bottle of fizz. Corkage is just £2.50 for a 75 cl bottle between two guests.
