Restaurant La Villa, as its name suggests, is not only one of many restaurants, but it is a unique "Villa" associated with a real piece of history. Her story begins in 1941, when "Vavreckov's Villa" was built according to a project by architect Vladimir Karfik for one of the directors of bata's group – Hugo Vavrecka. The future owner chose the style of Koterov modernity for his residence, yet Karfik's realization does not deny certain traces of functionalism. Vavrecek's family lived in their house relatively briefly, and only until 1946. During this time they were visited, among other things, by their daughter Bozena Havelova with her sons, Ivan and Václav, later Czech President. After the forced departure of the first tenants, the villa was transformed into a children's home, which operated there until the mid-1990s. In the following decade, the villa was replaced by several owners. In 2015, the current owner began a costly and complete reconstruction of the building with a conversion into a restaurant under the leadership of one of the most important Czech architects Josef Pleskot and his team from AP Atelier. The garden and the surroundings of the house have also undergone a complete reconstruction and revitalization. Fruit trees, berries and plants for growing herbs and vegetables were planted for the needs of the kitchen. The dominant feature of the garden remained the original mature pinetrees, which became the symbol of "La Villa".
