Small, but perfectly formed, daytime cafe. In 2001 we defined ourselves as "real food for real people" (I.Times) ten years on and nothing has changed, except our mantra now emphasises our love for our locality. We deeply believe in the use of local foods to both supplier our economy and also to provide visitors to Ireland with a snapshot of real regional foods, rather than just homogonised ,bar coded stuff ! We try to source all our primary ingredients from within a 100km radius of Idaho Cafe. Apple juice from Cappoquinn, Cheeses from Schull, milk and butter from Ballinahina, bread from Cork city, black pudding, sausages and bacon from Limerick, You get the picture ! These are not always the cheapest, but we always think they are the best. Our electricity comes from renewable sources, our take out cups are compostable, our recycling policy is so efficent that we only send one small bin to land fill each week. We are too modest to boast of our food, but a quick perusal of the Bridgestone guide should reassure you !
