Situated in the centre of Liverpool’s trendy Georgian Quarter, this pan-Asian eatery offers a vast array of eclectic dishes as diverse as its clientele. Part of the innovative 60 Hope Street Group, which has the area boxed-off with three very differently themed restaurants, Host rarely struggles to fill its 150-cover open-plan interior of an evening. Decently priced starters include the likes of pan-fried sea bass with a prawn, galangal and coconut salad, while ‘big plates’ range from delicate white miso and udon noodle soup to more substantial offerings such as a red duck coconut curry with lychees – all served by super-efficient staff. There are also plentiful options for those with vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free dietary requirements. Table sharing is encouraged in this pleasantly rumbustious home from home, where the food is wholesomely fresh and the atmosphere crackles.
