Having living in Spain for a few years after 13 years in Riga, I got used to different kitchen emphasis on seafoods. I was surprised in my third visit to this small place in an unnoticed alley of Riga centre, to find a Spanish style calamari dish. It was mind boggling when I actually tasted it. For merely 9 EUR I got the best seafood dish I remember eating in Riga. This place never cease to surprise. The dish was just right (could have been a bit bit hotter) and the presentation kind of French and so un-latvian. To compensate, this was Latvia 88th independence day and I got my share of fireworks& Latvian music celebrating their freedom.
