The Roundy Bar is located in the oldest area of Cork and within one of the oldest buildings in Cork. The building is as old as Cork itself. It may be hard to imagine, while you’re sitting outside on this busy terrace, but the corner on which the Roundy is situated was once part of a busy medieval market place and, at one point, surrounded by artificial canals. The Cornmarket, which is now locally known as the Coal Quay, was once home to many transient and permanent traders including vintners, cobblers, ship-chandlers and rope makers. Nowadays the Coal Quay and Castle St remain home to many longstanding traders and form part of the city’s cultural heritage. So call in for a coffee some day and soak up some of the local history of the old market area. By day, this wonderful small and intimate bar has a relaxed atmosphere that makes it the perfect place for a morning coffee. By night, it transforms itself into a lively night spot with live music, comedy and djs. What makes The Roundy bar stand out is not only the fantastic staff but also our famous selection of speciality beers. So why not drop in, take a seat and check us out.
