Established in 1981 by Adnan Çağlayan as a grocery store in Karşıyaka, Ankara, Çağlayan Gıda has formed the first basis of the Damla Bakliyat, one of the leading brands of pulses.At the end of 1983, Çağlayan Gıda Ind.Trade.Co.Ltd. developed today's corporate company identity and it continued to operate in bulk food sector until 1990.In those years, there were serious changes in the nutritional habits of Turkish society, more importance was givien to hygiene and quality, and packed pulses products began to be preferred more.Recognizing these changes and developments occurred on the market and in the needs of consumers in good time, Adnan and Mustafa brothers, in early 1987, actuated the first automatic pulse packaging machine, thus, besides the wholesale trade, packaged pulse production has also been started.It was moved to Gimat Toptancılar Sitesi in 1990 and completely stopped working on bulk food and started to serve the whole country in sales of packed pulses.
