Unlike other importers, we don’t use distributors or middlemen but source directly from butchers and farmers across Italy and France to bring a unique range of charcuterie and cheese to London. We started out in 2005, travelling to Italy every few weeks in search of the best parmesan which we hand selected and sold at Borough Market. Expanding our product range slowly from there, three years later we became The Ham and Cheese Company. Since then we have been developing our network of remarkable producers in almost every region of Italy and southwest France. We visit them regularly to talk, eat and learn, all of us linked by similar values: taste, authenticity, tradition and bringing joy to peoples’ lives through food. Working in these countries where each province, town and family boasts its own recipes and traditions, our fundamental aim has remained consistent: to sell food that is an expression of the artisan who makes it and the place in which it originates.
