For us Café Escondido was the PERFECT morning spot during our week’s stay at West End/West Bay. Close your eyes and imagine open air seating, a great view of the water, being able to watch a handful of hummingbirds play and eat, while enjoying an exquisite cup of coffee and maybe some eggs and sausage too….while being served by the friendliest of staff….well you have just taken yourself to Café Escondido. Café Escondido is located above West End Divers, which is easy to locate by their red painted dive shop and storage compartments that are across the street by the dock. We tried various coffees and they were all delicious. In addition, you can get a couple of very flavorful eggs and sausage, or any number of other breakfast items, for under $5 or a full breakfast for just a few dollars more. And each time we visited the staff was always smiling and very willing to answer any questions about the menu or West End. Plus, if you like hummingbirds, just sit over to the left side near the feeder and you’ll be entertained watching a handful dart in and out as you enjoy the soft breeze the filters through.
