The story of the wall that surrounds Nola from the back, starts with the Genoese. The Genoese built two large fortifications, which covered the Galata tower towards the coastline. Thanks to these walls, they would be protected against the attacks from the direction of Pera and they would have created a living space for their colonies. Walls about 2 meters thick and 2.8 km long; He limited an area of 37 hectares. It is known that the walls, which ended on the coast with the sea, stretched to the front of Azapkapı, Şişhane, Galata Tower and Tophane. There were 12 gates and 24 towers. Among them, 12 towers with a distance of 33 km were located on the sea side.
