10 years after his arrival in Italy and having worked as a master pastry chef at the traditional Confectionery "Del Molino", Don Juan Bautista Brignole opened the doors of his own pastry shop in 1919, "El Progreso", located on the layout of the traditional Av. Santa Fe of the City of Buenos Aires. In 1923 his "Pannettone", together with other delicacies, was awarded with a diploma and gold medal at the International Exhibition in Rome. Today, about to turn 100 years after the opening of "El Progreso", the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Don Juan keep the tradition alive with the same initial enthusiasm of its founder.
