Our bakery honors Beverly, who grew up in an American heartland household where everyone baked. Her mother, whose cookbook was composed of family recipes dating back to 1889, patiently and caringly taught her how to bring the recipes to life in the kitchen. This was long before the days of artificial ingredients – everything that went into the cakes and pies were all natural. The recipes demanded seasonal ingredients fresh from the Minnesota farms, fields and forests. Like her mother before her, Beverly loved baking. So after perfecting the craft, the skills and the patience, she spent much of her time expanding the family cookbook throughout her life. In time, Beverly passed the family heirloom cookbook down to her daughter. Sharing her mother’s passion, and having the talent and touch for baking, she has kept the family’s baking traditions alive, and has now brought them to life again – half a world away – here in sunny Abu Dhabi, to allow you to create sweet moments with your loved ones, like Beverly used to do for her family and friends. In keeping the family tradition alive, she has expanded the family heirloom cookbook to feature local ingredients such as organic dates from an Emirati farm in Al Ain, as well as a mixture of Arabian spices.
