The Wensleydale Creamery is an award-winning, independent traditional cheese-maker and specialist blender of cheese with ingredients. We use traditional methods to handcraft cheese to time-honoured recipes, using milk from local farms, as well as being innovative with the development of new cheese recipes. Steeped in heritage and provenance, we are custodians of tradition with a 1000 year history, relevant to the 21st century. In December 2013, our Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese achieved European Protected Geographical Indication (PGI). Producing approximately 4000 tonnes of cheese, and operating one of the top tourist destinations in the Yorkshire Dales, we are truly a community based business, being a major provider of rural jobs, contributing £12m to the local economy annually. Supplying a broad range of customers including major UK retailers, wholesalers, independent retailers, delis and farm shops around the UK, as well as the manufacturing and food service sector, our wide range of cheese, yogurt and butter is also exported around the world.
