Traditional North-Indian dishes for Dutch guests After a few culinary internships in the United States, chef Pramod Sharma settled in Amsterdam during the late seventies. Here he realized his dream by opening Mayur in 1981, one of the first Indian restaurants in the Netherlands. His philosophy was simple: introducing traditional North-Indian dishes to his Dutch guests, in a warm athmosphere, like people "are dining with us at our home". Thirty four years later, now with help of the next generation, his philosophy for Mayur remains the same: serving great Indian food in a relaxing and beautiful setting, where the guests become part of the family.
