In 1965, Richard died far too early and Else decided to continue the business with the support of her daughter Anna Maria (Marita). In 1975, Marita became the boss and since all the guests always went to the "Mother", she invented the name "Mother Ernst". Together with her husband Gert Ullrich, she successfully ran the business until December 31, 1999 and went into well-deserved retirement, but after that she still helped out in the morning hours. Unfortunately, she died in July 2015. In January 2000, her son Stephan Ullrich, who married into the family, took over the restaurant and continues to run it in the same form and with great joy to this day; his children Sebastian and Alexandra also help out actively. Some things were renovated in 2013, but the flair of the 60s/70s remained unchanged. The ''Mutter Ernst'' offers guests hearty, down-to-earth, freshly cooked Frankfurt dishes (no ready-made products are used), cool local drinks and pleasant entertainment. It is and remains an oasis of comfort and normality, despite the very special neighborhood. With the help of the Bitburger Brewery, Oceans Company, many donors, the KfW and FRASPA1822 and the support of family and friends, we have found a new, very nice place at Rahmhofstr. 1-3 (Schillerpassage) in downtown Frankfurt behind the Chamber of Commerce and the stock exchange.
