The Hallaisen is a Bergen-inspired ice cream bar located in one of the city's oldest shopping streets, Skostredet. Here we make homemade ice cream based on the best West Norwegian raw materials we can obtain as well as a selection of sustainable ingredients from all over the world. At the bottom lies a desire to return to Bryggen and Vågsbunnen's historic roots as a meeting place for the exchange of local and international goods, ideas and cultures. The Hallaisen is, as the name implies, a popular and friendly greeting, and hopefully the beginning of a conversation. We are always open to creative collaboration across food, music, culture, design and urban development and hope we can help make Bergen a slightly more open and warm city.
