Fact fans will note The Abercrombie is the last remaining property in Aberdeen with a 'sunk' - or external basement - and is the only place on Union Street with stairs. That's not the only way this lively bar stands out from the crowd. With one big screen, five plasma TVs and two Sky boxes, it draws in a crowd in search of football, rugby, Formula One and other major fixtures. Also popular are the two quiz nights: a general knowledge competition on Wednesday, with a £30 meal voucher first prize; and a specialist music and sports contest early on Sunday evening. There's a DJ on Saturday, a pool table and, of course, the beer garden at the rear.
