Şehmus Özay was born in Mardin / Nusaybin. It is from these years that he came to meet with mussels, which he came up with in 1972, which he met in Izmir. Şehmus Usta, who started selling mussels as a portable on 1981, settled in Bodrum / Gündoğan in 1981 and continued to sell mussels here as well. Şehmus Usta has become a popular place for celebrities with its mussel restaurant it opened in 2016.
