Established in 1979 under the leadership of the municipality and official production in 1982, BESAS Halk Bread Factory produces 70 million pieces of bread annually and meets 20% of the city's bread needs. Its main purpose is to produce quality, healthy, hygienic and economic bread and bread types, bakery products, milk and dairy products to the people of Bursa and to become a balance element in the market. BESAS Public Bread Factory, Bursa's largest, whereas Turkey is the third largest bread manufacturing facility. The factory, which is established in Bursa Organized Industrial Zone on an area of 13.500 square meters, has a capacity of producing 360.000 pieces of bread (400 grams) per day with 5 tunnel type ovens and fully automatic machines without touching in a closed area of 6,400 square meters.
