In 1916, Turyağ, a continuation of a small fathouse established in İzmir Turan district, made investments for the production of vegetable margarines in the 20's and introduced the first vegetable margarine in 1932. Turyağ moved to its headquarters in Istanbul in 1996 and in 2008 moved its production to its modern facilities in Balıkesir from İzmir's Turan district. In 2011, she was awarded a medal by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for World Food Day. In 2014, Cargill, the global food giant, was taken over by Turyağ, one of the leading vegetable oil producers in our country, with industrial and oil brands, integrated facilities, sales and marketing organization.
