Tim and Marnie have been farming at Radmore Green since 2000, when they took over the farm from Tim’s parents. Previously a dairy farm, Chestnut Meats was conceived 8 years ago with Marnie selling goat and kid goat from the farm gate. The business has steadily grown and we now ship fresh meat nationally to our customers as well as supplying wholesalers, shops, restaurants and bistros across the UK. We also attend some local Farmer's markets and specially selected Food Festivals. To meet demand we now source British goat and kid from other goat producers in the UK. We have built up a good network of local suppliers and we only ever source from welfare friendly British farms. Over the years we have accumulated numerous awards including: Innovation in 2010 from North West Fine Foods, runner up in the meat category in North West Fine Foods 2009, and a win with John Mettrick in 2008 with kid goat chops. Being innovators in the field of goat meat we have also been lucky enough to have appeared on National Television in shows such as BBC's Countryfile, Ready, Steady Cook and Kill it, Cook it, Eat it. We have also appeared in the National press such as the Farmer's Guardian and the Independent and Daily Telegraph. “Our mission is to be the best goat meat retailer in the UK, providing quality, consistency and innovation”. We have developed products such as goat sausages, goat burgers, tenderised goat steaks and are always on the look out for new creations. As the business has grown Chestnut meats has also diversified to supply other quality meats like Cheshire pork, Lamb, Mutton and Venison to provide a one stop shop for our customers. We also sell poultry such as Free range Turkeys, Geese and Duck at Christmas time. In addition to all of this, we also process Farmer's kills, providing a service for local farmers to cut, pack and label their own animals. Plus, we have a sister company Nantwich Hog Roasts which provides a catering service. Despite how much we've grown, we're still a family company and still sell goat at the farm gate - some of our customers prefer to come to the farm and collect their order whilst having a chat over a cup of tea.
